MEDICAL RECORDS STORAGE COORDINATOR/SCANNER

 

Working under the supervision of the Practice Operations Support Coordinator, yet working independently, the Medical Records Storage Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the smooth functioning and organization of the Storage facility, interacting with Health Care staff to support their needs for record retrieval and is also responsible for scanning paper charts into the Electronic Health Record.

 

SCANNING:

  • Follows set procedures in scanning medical record documents into the EHR system.
  • Consistently meets set standards and deadlines for the accurate and timely entry of documents into the EHR system.
  • Applies the established company template guidelines in determining which documents to scan into the EHR system.
  • Assures confidentiality of patient file and record information.

Performs all duties in compliance with HIPAA regulations

 

MEDICAL RECORDS STORAGE COORDINATOR:

 

Responsible for general maintenance of the storage area and makes suggestions to Practice Operations for improvements in organization of the area, proficiency in processes and supplies needed to maintain the process and physical site.

  • Receives all purged chart requests.
  • Pulls all purged chart requests by traveling to the company’s off-site storage warehouse (Radio Park location).
  • Responsible for organizing Radio Park by section/office location so that when records come from the company’s various office locations for storage they can be contained in the designated area until they are ready for destruction.
  • Organizes and readies boxes for destruction.
  • Communicates with Practice Operations management when destruction arrangements need to be made with the destruction company.
  • Is available and present at the storage location during the entire destruction process.
  • Receives requests for pick-up of purged boxes from offices when ready for storage.
  • Communicates storage requests to Practice Operations Coordinator who will make arrangements with moving company to have the boxes moved to storage.
  • Is available and present at storage location to coordinate receipt of boxes coming to storage and assures boxes are placed in the assigned areas.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking and bending. Must be able to lift and carry large quantities of files.
  • Must be able to lift and move filled storage boxes of up to 50 lbs.**
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to the off-site storage location .
  • Basic computer skills with a willingness and ability to learn new applications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with ability to hear, to understand and to speak Standard English clearly and concisely.


MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Registered/Certified Medical Assistants work closely with the physicians throughout the company in direct patient care to include performing vitals, exam room set-up and break-down, diagnostic and screening tests, triaging messages, administering shots, and all of the things that come up during a busy day in a medical office. A mindset to provide quality patient care and customer service is a must.

  • Central Business Office
    Practice Support Team MA, travel throughout the company. Flexible Schedule

  • Towson Location
    1 MA needed for the Towson location to work with various physicians and specialties as a Float MA. Hours vary Monday - Friday but generally core business hours.

         Medical Assistant Requirements:

  • Current certification as a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant

  • Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program and/or a minimum of 2 years related experience

  • Must be computer literate with knowledge of electronic medical records and electronic practice management system a plus. NextGen experience preferred

  • Able to physically assist patients onto and off of examination tables

  • Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail required

 

RECEPTIONIST

The receptionist provides the first line of communication with the patient. Job duties include: answering the phone, facilitating communication between patients and providers, and scheduling appointments. 

  • Reisterstown Location
    1 Float Receptionist needed for our Reisterstown location. Hours vary Monday - Friday

           Receptionist Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Customer Service or Medical Office experience preferred

  • Ability to check patient eligibility

  • Basic computer skills with a willingness and ability to learn new applications

  • Ability to multi-task
